Nilesh Ved, a well-renowned name in the Global Retail industry and a celebrated retail magnate from the Middle East, is the Founder and Chairman of AppCorp Holding Global. From a humble journey in Dubai with a single store, he has built AppCorp into a global multi-billion-dollar transactional behemoth with a presence in 14 countries worldwide.
After graduating from Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Business Administration, Nilesh Ved, with his keen business acumen, recognised and seized the immense potential of the Middle East as a promising market for the retail industry. While travelling abroad, he was always fascinated by the fashion and retail sector of the West and envisioned bringing all of them to Middle Eastern customers, offering the global fashion retail experience.
AppCorp Holding Global’s heart is the Apparel Group, formed in 1996, a globally recognised name in the retail industry. Apparel Group operates over 2300 stores worldwide, with an impressive array of over 85 brands. The portfolio is a dynamic mix of internationally acclaimed brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, SKECHERS, LC Waikiki, Steve Madden, ALDO, Charles & Keith, Levi’s, Birkenstock, TOMS, Rituals, Forest Essentials, Tim Hortons and much more. In addition, Apparel Group also showcases homegrown brands, reflecting the diversity and innovation intrinsic of AppCorp Global. This includes successful in-house labels such as NYSAA, F5 Global, R&B, Athlete’s Co. (ACO.), Molten Chocolate Café, Sushi Library, etc.
Under Ved’s leadership and in 2016, Apparel Group launched an innovative app-based loyalty program called “Club Apparel” and an e-commerce platform, 6thStreet.com, in 2016. In 2022, 6thStreet.com introduced the GCC region’s first-ever phygital store, a blend of online and physical shopping experiences. It offers a unique shopping experience to customers from 1200+ brands with real-time integration with 1337 stores.
Nilesh Ved’s vision extends to logistics and production, as AppCorp incorporated companies like Shopfit Interiors, Speedex, and Konnect Logistics into their portfolio. Additionally, AppCorp’s sectors of interest include food and beverage, real estate, healthcare, financial services, fitness, and more.
One of Nilesh Ved’s standout achievements is his foresight in recognising the growth potential of the Indian market. As one of the first entrepreneurs to venture into this territory, he established Major Brands in 2001, laying the foundation for Apparel Group India Pvt. Ltd., one of the largest retail organisations in India, which operates over 120+ stores and 10+ international brands, further reinforcing AppCorp Global’s dominant position in India. This portfolio includes Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, Charles & Keith, Beverly Hills Polo Club, and ALDO. AppCorp also invested in Fuel Buddy, India’s largest doorstep diesel delivery service, further solidifying its presence in India.
Nilesh Ved is a firm believer in corporate social responsibility, and since 2015, AppCorp has been an active member of the United Nations Global Compact. His consistent commitment to hard work, honesty, and community upliftment has led to AppCorp’s success.
